Xpertise gains ISEB accreditation
As part of its strategy to be the UK's leading provider of authorised IT training, Xpertise has been awarded ISEB accreditation by the British Computer Society.
ISEB (Information Systems Examinations Board) qualifications are industry-recognised credentials managed by the British Computer Society (BCS). Xpertise is now authorised to deliver training for the Foundation and Manager's Certificate in IT Service Management courses, which are part of the ISEB range of qualifications.
According to Xpertise's managing director, Ian Johnson, this accreditation strengthens the company's position in two ways. "First," says Johnson, "our strategy is very much focused around accreditation and certification. Xpertise already provides the widest range of authorised IT training courses in the UK and this accreditation further supports our position. Second, the last few years have seen Xpertise make significant and successful inroads into professional development training - courses for IT teams which are based around their roles, not around technologies. This is now the fastest growing part of our business, so we're especially pleased to add ISEB to our already impressive list of accreditations."
Xpertise is already accredited by almost all leading software vendors, including companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Red Hat, Citrix and Cisco.
ITIL Infrastructure Management is an important part of Xpertise's curriculum - and represents a set of skills very much in demand by today's organisations. "IT departments need more than just technology skills," says Johnson. "IT departments today have to work within clear processes, to defined standards and demonstrate not just value for money but also clear return on investment. ITIL Infrastructure Management is one of a range of development programmes we run that enable them to achieve this."
Xpertise has been steadily adding professional development courses to its portfolio over the last few years. The company now provides training on many subjects, such as project management, security, data protection, team leadership, coaching, communications and leadership. "Professional development training now accounts for around twenty per cent of what we do," says Johnson. "Although we don't see Xpertise moving away from its core technical training products, professional development courses strongly complement them."
Xpertise's ISEB accreditation covers all of Xpertise's six training centres, authorising the company to deliver official ITIL courses in Greater Manchester, London, Maidenhead, the Midlands, Tyne and Wear and Yorkshire - and on site at customers' offices nationwide.
