Xpertise helps organisations to achieve Data Protection Compliance

Xpertise has introduced a new range of courses to help people understand the potentially complex area of Security Management, Data Protection and compliance.

Our new range of courses will help to get you up to speed on these important issues."

The new courses provide a thorough understanding of the current UK and European legislation which affects IT. In particular, they focus on issues affecting the Data Protection Act including: compliance, Web and Internet services.

Four new courses have now been launched:

Introduction to Data Protection
This 1-day course covers the eight principles of data protection, the origins and reasons for data protection legislation and how to comply with the Data Protection Act.

Freedom of Information Act
This 1-day course covers the background to the development of the Act and accountability issues, the structure of the Act, right to know and rights of access, the right to personal information, the review and appeals procedure, the responsibility of the Government's public records, and how to achieve compliance.

ISEB Certificate in Data Protection
This 5-day course is geared towards passing the ISEB (Information Systems Examination Body) examination. It covers: understanding the Data Protection Act, the origin and reasons for the Act, how to apply the Act and the actions required to be compliant with the Act.

ISEB Certificate in Information Security Management Principles
This 5-day course is geared towards passing the ISEB (Information Systems Examination Body) examination. It covers: concepts such as confidentiality, integrity, availability, vulnerability, threats and countermeasures. It also covers UK legislation and regulations, national and international standards as well as the categorisation, operation and effectiveness of safeguards.
