Hong Kong, May 13, 2010 -- NetDimensions (London Stock Exchange, AIM: NETD), a global provider of performance, knowledge and learning management systems, will launch a groundbreaking portable LMS solution called Mobile EKP (mEKP) at ASTD 2010 International Conference & Exposition in Chicago next week.

mEKP will enable users to review course materials, run courses, take exams and review documents, as well as review exam and training history information from any computer with a USB port at their convenience.

“mEKP is a simplified version of the Enterprise Knowledge Platform (EKP), running independently from a USB flash drive,” states Ray Ruff, Chief Information Officer at NetDimensions.

EKP is NetDimensions’ robust and multilingual LMS used by more than 800 organizations with over 8 million users worldwide.

“We expect mEKP to revolutionize training delivery to learners in organizations around the world. It will enable them to deliver compliance training, certification assessments and secure/private content to a much wider audience than ever before,” notes Ruff.

mEKP is designed for organizations with staff who are out in the field most of the time or work in remote offices and have limited or restricted Internet connectivity, such as sales people, first responders, sailors, pilots and military personnel. Additionally, it resolves the problem of delivering very high-bandwidth requirement materials (e.g., gigabytes of video/flash/simulation) in a timely manner.

“Users do not have to install anything. All they have to do is plug in a mEKP flash drive into any computer with a USB port and launch the LMS,” adds Ruff.

Attendees at ASTD 2010 can get hands-on experience with mEKP by visiting NetDimensions at booth number 510 from May 17-19.

A Truly Portable LMS

mEKP can intelligently manage user information while offline and communicate with a master EKP system to synchronize user information when an Internet connection is available.

“mEKP is a much more powerful tool than offline players,” Ruff explains.

“As a portable e-learning environment, mEKP can support all courseware and exam detail delivery, career development review, and direct resources access. It also has the same security options and permissions settings of a master EKP system and can support encryption of flash drive content.”
