Linux Professional Institute selects Pearson VUE as exclusive partner for delivery of computer-based exams

Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, has been selected by Linux Professional Institute (LPI) as the company’s exclusive delivery provider of LPI certification exams.

Effective July 1, 2012, all LPI exams, which candidates undertake to demonstrate their competency in various aspects of the Linux operating system, will be delivered exclusively through Pearson VUE’s worldwide network of more than 5,000 testing centers in 165 countries.

LPI is globally supported by the IT industry, enterprise customers, community professionals, government entities and the educational community. Since 1999, LPI has delivered over 300,000 exams and 100,000 certifications around the world.

“The decision to move to a single exam delivery partner will provide an overall simplified testing experience for LPI candidates,” said Jim Lacey, President and CEO of LPI. “Our exclusive agreement with Pearson VUE will enable us to utilize its enhanced security features and expand our reach into global markets.”
