The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organisation, and Pearson VUE, the leader in computer-based testing, have announced a special promotional programme in select European countries for LPI Approved Academic Partners (LPI-AAP).

Under the new initiative LPI-AAPs will be able to purchase discounted vouchers for their students who are expected to take LPI's certification exams. The programme will initially be offered in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland and Spain, with other nations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa expected to join the scheme.

John Meaney, LPI Area Operations Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said:
"We welcome this initiative from Pearson VUE and share its interest in making our certification programme more accessible to aspiring Linux professionals involved in formal education programmes. This will allow LPI academic partners to bundle the cost of training and our certification exams as an affordable option for students."

Suzana Lopes, Pearson VUE, VP EMEA Sales and Marketing, added:
"This exciting initiative demonstrates our ability to work with clients to offer specific promotions for their exams. We are delighted to help LPI academic partners offer a training and testing experience with added value."
