Ready Technology: capturing context for smart performance support

Ontuitive, the performance support software and services provider, has unveiled ‘Ready Technology’ to deliver support for workers’ queries based on their context.

Ontuitive’s latest version of its performance support authoring application, LearningGuide Manager 7.1, includes a context-capture technology, which it calls ‘Ready Technology’. It allows performance support designers to capture the context of a worker’s query and quickly deliver just the right amount of support to resolve it. Ready Technology is being launched at the Learning Technologies event taking place in London later this month.

“Context lies at the heart of Ontuitive’s approach to performance support and, with Ready Technology, performance support designers now have more power to decide when, where and how support is delivered so that it matches the context of employees' queries,” explained Ontuitive’s President International, Alfred Remmits.

In the past, performance support systems were often inflexible and very expensive, in part because capturing context was complex. “Ready Technology simplifies capturing context: so now, effective performance support systems are much more easily attainable for all types of businesses.”

Ready Technology contains an ultra-thin software client that’s aware of the user’s context - their role and their task - and a micro-interface which is used to deliver just-enough support to the user within 2 clicks and 10 seconds. It contains the business rules, set by the designer, to govern which content is displayed and it also contains an alerts component to prevent errors and drive consistent application use - all based on the user’s context.

Ready Technology has broad application support, suitable for most of today’s enterprise applications based on modern desktop and web-based architectures. It also has a library of Ready Technology-enabled content including Office 2010, Office 365 with SharePoint and Lync 2010.

Remmits believes Ready Technology is the future of performance support: “It increases employee productivity and on-the-job performance, accelerates time to proficiency and reduces support and training costs. We have shown that training can be cut by between fifty and seventy-five percent using performance support powered by Ready Technology,” Remmits added.

Ready Technology will be demonstrated at Ontuitive’s exhibition booth at the forthcoming Learning Technologies event in London, 29-30 January. More information about Ready Technology is available at www.ontuitive.com
