Performance support methods and systems: Ontuitive at Online Educa Berlin

Den Bosch, NetherlandsLearning NewsOntuitive

Ontuitive, a world leader in performance support solutions, is taking part in the upcoming Online Educa conference and exhibition in Berlin, 28 to 30 November.

Over the last decade Ontuitive has been questioning the types of learning used in business to deliver change and performance. It has pioneered new performance support software and methods that concentrate learning into the workflow itself, at the the actual moment learning is required.

The company is taking part in the upcoming Online Educa conference and exhibition, from 28 to 30 November in Berlin, presenting its thoughts and demonstrating its work in this exciting area of learning.

Robert Bezemer, Ontuitive’s Channel Director, explains: “when workers needed to learn something, the standard approach is to stop work and take a course and then apply it afterwards back at work. Whether a course over several days or a shorter e-learning course, people quickly forget much of it and unless workers are using their newly learnt skills frequently, they can spend too long trying to recall what was on the course, searching through learning resources, asking colleagues, etc. Performance suffers.”

With change a constant in most businesses, Ontuitive believes that L&D has a significant role to play. Bezemer: “in these times of change many in business will look to L&D for help but there is also a risk: if training remains inefficient workers will seek ways around it. Performance suffers again.”

“Ontuitive’s unique development framework, methods and approach - built into it’s performance support authoring product - enable L&D professionals to transform business performance.”

Ontutive has, over ten years, developed a performance support development framework, software platform and methods for integrating the learning people need at work actually into their workflows. The business has expanded considerably from it’s start in Den Bosch, with offices now in the UK and the US, and an impressive list of clients.

Bezemer adds: “in the past, performance support systems tended to be expensive and inflexible and involve an army of consultants. This was no good at all, so we set about changing it and today even the most sophisticated performance support systems are well within the reach of all businesses.”

Online Educa 2012 is in its 18th year and is a key event for Europe’s L&D professionals. The event takes place in Berlin from 28-30 November and comprises a conference to discover and absorb some of the world's most innovative thinking about education and technology, and an exhibition of the leading international e-learning manufacturers, suppliers and service providers.
