Innovation in learning services: new performance support development methodology shortlisted for industry award
Ontuitive’s 2 clicks and 10 seconds performance support methodology has been shortlisted in the 2013 Learning and Performance Awards.
Ontuitive, a world leader in performance support, has been shortlisted for a Learning and Performance Award in innovation for its work in creating a performance support development methodology and integrated it into its performance support design authoring technology. The methodology, ' 2 clicks and 10 seconds', was born from the goal of people being able to access just the right amount of support to complete tasks within 2 clicks and 10 seconds, and with easy access to just the right amount of any further knowledge required.
"There are many problems with how learning is sustained to
support workers. Often people are presented with too much
information - more than is required to complete their task; or they
find themselves searching through company and other resources - and
getting over-faced with information. When new systems and other
change programmes are introduced workers can easily get frustrated
at being unable to get on with their jobs. Quality suffers,
performance suffers and errors escalate," explained Ontuitive's Ali
Parkinson.
"The innovation of the 2 clicks and 10 seconds methodology is in
both solving these problems, by improving how workers are
supported, and in its integration in Ontuitive's software, so that
authors can build performance support systems that deliver just the
right amount of support at the right moment in the workflow."
The Learning and Performance Awards is an annual programme, run by
the Learning and Performance Institute, to recognise outstanding
examples of high standards, best practice, innovation and
excellence within the learning and development sector. The winners
of the 2013 awards will be announced at the Institute's prestigious
awards dinner on 7 February at The Dorchester, London.
