Northgate is launching an exciting, interactive e-learning module called Leadership in Action! at Learning Technologies 2016, on 3-4 February 2016.

Leadership in Action! puts Learners in the driving seat and allows them to practise leadership skills in an exciting scenario.

Acting as the Group Leader of a jungle expedition the Learner is faced with a number of challenging situations where a decision must be made.

Mike Lynch, Director at Northgate says: “To be an effective leader it is essential to have the courage of your convictions, to assess risk calmly, to be bold when the occasion calls for it but all the time being mindful of the team’s safety and well–being. All these leadership skills are put to the test in Leadership in Action! as well as many others. For each decision made the Learner is rated on his or her competence and given the outcome of each decision as well as a commentary on how good it was (or not). A final score is given for the experience. It’s an ideal introduction to leadership in a safe environment.”

In addition to the leadership module, Northgate is also launching a second original e-learning module - Resilience at Work.

This 30-40 minute module allows Learners to interact with a series of ‘True/False’ statements, descriptions of ‘Real Situations’ and ‘Personal’ questions to check their own experiences of the topic.

The Learner records their responses on an on-screen notebook that is assessed as they go along to give a final score and rating for how well they have understood the topic.

The outcome is a deeper understanding of what resilience in the workplace is all about. Learners can print out or save a key points handout to summarise the learning and also create an Action Plan to improve their own resilience in the workplace.
