Mind Click announces development of Totara LMS Offline Player

Mind Click, a Totara LMS Platinum partner and award-winning organisation, today announces it is building an offline player application for Totara’s learning management system, which will enable learning to be tracked, even when a learner is offline.

Learning management systems give learners what they need, when they need it, as long as they’re online. Whilst fantastic in helping to deliver and distribute learning and transform organisational training, LMSs have often been limited by their inability to track learning that’s undertaken whilst offline. And with the rise of multi-device learning, this is quick becoming a challenge for many organisations.

Mind Click are seeking to solve this problem with the creation of their new Totara Offline Player, which will be available exclusively to Mind Click’s Totara customers.

The new Offline Player, built as a mobile application, will make it easy to capture records of learning, even when a learner is offline. It will also maintain the flow of learning from a user perspective, creating a seamless training experience for the modern learner.

So how will the Offline Player work?

The process is simple for how offline learning will be captured via the Totara Offline Player, tracking learners’ progress regardless of where they are, and later syncing with the LMS. All learning captured will also be 100% SCORM compliant, ensuring certifications are still accurately awarded.

Here’s what organisations who utilise the Offline Player will get:

  • A customised offline application with their own styling and branding
  • SCORM packages which can be pushed to learners by the LMS, or preloaded on demand by the learner
  • SCORM attempts which can be resumed anytime, anywhere by the learner; online or offline
  • Entire system which will be Totara LMS-friendly

Speaking about why Mind Click have chosen to develop the Offline Player for Totara LMS, Sean Reddington, Managing Director, comments:

“We started developing the Offline Player because we recognise an on-going need to provide learning that is truly multi-device, and our customers are clearly displaying a need for this product.. An Offline Player isn't currently in Totara's short term development plan, so we're delighted to be able to bring this unique functionality to the table and help further position Mind Click as the leading Totara Platinum Partner."

This is a completely unique solution, and displays Mind Click’s continued dedication to Totara Learning. This development positions them as the leading Totara LMS Partner, who are committed to developing innovative products and solutions which create real value for their customers.

Mind Click are currently in the development stages of the Offline Player, and are looking to release it at the Learning Technologies event at Kensington Olympia on February 3rd and 4th, 2016. More about Mind Click’s Totara Offline Player is available via [email protected].
