Following research from City & Guilds Group that showed a gap between employees’ expectations of learning at work and what L&D is providing, Learning News spoke to its Managing Director John Yates to find out more.

The research published earlier this Summer showed 79% of employees would like more focus on L&D at work, 85% struggle to access training at work and only 16% find learning offered at work very effective.

Learning News asked John Yates for his thoughts on what was behind these figures. John talks principally about two things: about making learning more accessible in similar ways to how other sectors of the media have adapted in recent years and about how the alignment of learners’ careers and the aims of business need connecting up better.
