Participant chosen from a wide range of applicants to be nurtured with targeted skills-building and networking opportunities.

The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) is proud to announce the first participant of its Sponsored Learning Professional programme, a new initiative to help selected learning professionals achieve their personal development and career goals.

The programme offers an individual practitioner in the field of workplace learning the opportunity to expand their knowledge and build their network with a year-long programme of targeted support. The programme will regularly select one learning professional and equip them with the skills, tools and networks to significantly develop within their chosen field.

The chosen professional is Salma Meah, until recently Head of eLearning at DLD College London.

Commenting on Salma's selection, LPI CEO, Edmund Monk, said:

"The response to the Sponsored Learning Professional programme has been phenomenal. We have had applications from a wide range of people, with differing levels of seniority, working in a variety of sectors. But Salma's application stood out as being from someone with both a huge passion for learning and a clearly defined path for her future career - and yet recent life-changing events had caused her career to stall.  As an LPI sponsored learning professional, Salma can now look forward to a programme of courses, events, support, mentoring and networking that will empower her to become a significant contributor to the field of workplace learning, in the same spirit as all professional members of the LPI. I look forward to working with her and wish her the very best."

Speaking about her sponsorship, Salma said: "I am so excited and honoured to have been selected as the LPI's Sponsored Learning Professional and I am looking forward to meeting the team from the LPI.  I'm now really inspired to push myself above and beyond my comfort zone with zest and passion!"
