The Learning and Performance Institute has announced the launch of a brand new certification programme, the ‘Webinar Masterclass’, designed to improve the confidence and delivery skills of anyone who presents webinars.

Building upon its highly respected and recognised certificates in design and facilitation of live online learning (COLF and CDOL), the Learning and Performance Institute has announced the launch of a brand new progamme, the 'Webinar Masterclass', developed to meet the needs of anyone who has, or is considering, presenting webinars to a remote audience. Delegates who complete the programme will be awarded the 'LPI Certified Webinar Master' certification.

This new certification programme is designed to provide anyone involved in the design and delivery of webinars with the most up-to-date tools and techniques needed to confidently engage their audience and present their subject with authority and impact.

According to Donald H. Taylor, chairman of the LPI and author of the new certification programme, webinars are often seen as a simple announcement mechanism to broadcast knowledge. But with no real visibility of the audience, presenters find it difficult or impossible to engage attendees and keep them interested in the subject. This can result in people dropping off the session or, worse, commenting negatively on social media.

"A poorly delivered webinar can leave people unimpressed and may badly damage the presenter's reputation," says Taylor. "The answer to this problem is to prepare properly, structure webinars well and use some time-tested methods to ensure interaction."

Edmund Monk, Managing Director of the LPI, said: "I am excited to announce this new service from the LPI which expands our portfolio of essential certifications for professionals involved in virtual learning, presenting and training. The LPI Webinar Master certification will appeal not only to learning and development professionals but to marketeers, sales, pre-sales, academics and anyone else who wants to tell an engaging story to prospects and customers.

"The masterclass facilitator, Donald H. Taylor, has coached hundreds of presenters to deliver successfully online since 2007 and his video How to run a great webinar was 2015’s most viewed page on Training Zone. Delegates who attend this masterclass will be mentored by one of the learning sector's most experienced proponents of webinar delivery.  As chairman of the LPI, I can think of no-one more qualified than Don to spearhead this new certification programme."

The masterclass is delivered via the Adobe Connect platform and live online sessions are conducted once a week for four weeks. Each session, or unit, covers a particular aspect of webinar design or delivery, such as how to achieve delegate momentum, the six key roles in an online event, how to master your voice for maximum impact, the science behind good and bad slides etc. The first masterclass runs on 17th, 24th 31st May and 7th June 2016.
