The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) announces SAS as headline sponsor for the 20th annual Learning Awards, the learning sector’s premier showcase of outstanding achievement in corporate learning and performance.

The Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) is proud to announce that SAS, a leading provider of analytics, business intelligence and data management software and services, is to be the headline sponsor at the learning sector's premier awards ceremony.

Since its inception in 1995, the Learning Awards has grown year-on-year to become the most prestigious and globally-recognised celebration of achievement in workplace learning. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, the awards is firmly established as the benchmark by which all other learning awards are measured, and represents the pinnacle of success for learning professionals, their teams and their companies.

LPI Chief Executive, Colin Steed, said: "The heritage and reputation of The Learning Awards is unrivalled. It’s still the first event that’s marked on the learning and development calendar and, every year, it reaffirms the outstanding impact that learning and development organisations are having around the globe. The ceremony provides an opportunity for the industry to get together to celebrate and appreciate the fantastic work of so many individuals and organisations."

"As such, we are delighted to welcome SAS as headline sponsor for this special anniversary of the Learning Awards."

Myles Hannon, Head of Education, SAS Institute, said: "As an LPI Gold accredited learning partner for over 16 years, SAS are proud to be the headline sponsor for the 20th annual Learning Awards. While SAS has been committed to supporting the development of STEM skills in schools and universities, by making its software and eLearning available free of charge, we recognise the importance of workplace learning. There is still a major skills gap in the workplace, and research we conducted with The Tech Partnership last year showed that demand for big data skills is forecast to rise by 160 per cent over the period 2013-2020, compared to six per cent for UK employment overall. Our strong partnership with the LPI is helping us address the skills deficit in the marketplace."

The Learning Awards will take place on 4th February 2016 at the 5-star Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane, playing host to over 400 learning professionals
