IITT launches new accreditation programme to help buyers recognise quality providers in the personally-funded training market
A new accreditation programme, with a special kite-mark logo, has been launched by the Institute of IT Training for training providers who sell directly to the public. The IT Training Provider Accreditation Programme - Personally Funded Training was officially launched by the Institute of IT Training's Chief Executive, Colin Steed today.
The programme, which has been backed by the key players in this sector of the IT training market, is the direct result of industry interest in supporting buyers in finding 'training providers of repute'.
Steed explained that the Institute, after inviting all recognised providers in the personally funded IT Training market, formed a steering group comprising Cerco IT Training & Recruitment Ltd, Computeach International Ltd, and Just IT Training Ltd with the aim of developing a rigorous accreditation programme for this market sector. "The new accreditation programme will continue to address the quality of the training delivery, and crucially will provide a strong focus on the training providers' sales processes," explained Steed. "The intention is to give the buyer confidence in much the same way as the FSA identifies credible and trustworthy financial advisors."
"We are also working with the Office of Fair Trading to gain endorsement for the accreditation programme's new code of practice and I am in direct contact with Barry Sheerman MP, who heads up the Parliamentary Education Committee."
Steed explained that the Institute would be contacting all IT training providers in the direct consumer sales market to encourage them to join the scheme.
The Institute has issued a new accreditation logo, a kite mark specifically for the public, and will be embarking on an extensive national publicity programme in the near future to emphasise that it recommends only those providers who can display the new accreditation logo.
