New Award for Freelance Trainer of the Year

Learning NewsLPI (Learning and Performance Institute)

In recognition of the growing importance of freelance trainers in the industry, the Institute of IT Training (IITT) is pleased to announce a new category for this year's awards: Freelance Trainer of the Year. The award is sponsored by BroadSkill, the UK's largest supplier of freelance IT trainers.

Trainers who work for themselves are faced with increased challenges over those in full time employment; for example, in managing customer relationships, acquiring new business, and updating skills. The IITT is seeking to reward the very best amongst them.

Judges will be looking for trainers with practised skills, excellent references and a history of 'going the extra mile - delivering superb training time after time on behalf of, and to, their clients. Recognising that freelance trainers often need to be discreet in who they are representing, the judging panel will be looking for proven case histories to back up their submission.

Colin Steed, Chief Executive of the IITT, said: "We have a huge contingent of freelance trainers and we thought it appropriate to create this special award for them. With the sponsorship of Broadskill, we are now delighted to announce this new award for the 2005 event and I look forward to receiving many entries for this award."

Stephen Fletcher, Managing Director of BroadSkill, said: "We have always believed that the tremendous demands on the freelance trainer have gone unrecognised by many in the industry, and we are very pleased to be able to help in remedying this deficiency. Undoubtedly, the winner, and those who are short listed, will find this prestigious award a tremendous fillip to their businesses."
