IITT workshop programme announced
The Institute of IT Training has announced its 2002 programme of learning workshops that show trainers can successfully integrate new and traditional media to create training solutions that meet real business needs.
For the last two years, the Institute of IT Training has run a series of highly-successful seminars for training managers, designed to increase awareness of the critical managerial issues relating to the use of new media in training. This year represents a departure in that the focus is not on one particular medium (e-Learning), but on how trainers can successfully integrate new and traditional media to create training solutions that meet real business needs.
These high-level events comprise the latest practical user case studies from Astra Zeneca, BMW, Nestles, Herbert Smith, Manchester NHS Agency & Learn ECDL and Smartforce University.
The event is chaired by IITT Director of e-Learning Clive Shepherd.
Day 1: Creating cost-effective blended learning solutions
The first 1-day workshop looks at the ways in which e-learning methods can be blended with classroom training, one-to-one coaching and other well-established training techniques to create solutions that deliver on all fronts: engaging and effective learning, provided at a realistic price and in a responsive timeframe.
Selecting the right media for the job is no simple task, so we’ll be looking in detail at how to analyse the situation, identify the benefits of each available medium and then select the right combination to match your objectives and the constraints within which you are working.
Day 2: Making the business case for training
The second 1-day workshop focuses on the greatest challenge any training manager faces, particularly when times are tough, and that’s convincing senior management of the real business benefits of training.
We’ll be looking at the different ways in which the benefits of training projects, policies and systems can be positioned, with an emphasis on the issues that matter most to management.
Both workshops in themselves utilise a wide range of techniques, including practical activities, discussions and case study presentations.
You’ll get a chance to learn from experts in the field, managers who have put these principles into practice in their own organisations and, of course, your fellow participants.
Who will benefit?
Senior managers, trainers and consultants representing organisations (corporate, public sector and education) seeking to provide strategic learning solutions that meet real business needs.
