Kineo Pacific Creates ASADA's First Multi-Device Anti-Doping Elearning Course and LMS
The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA), the nation's driving force behind pure performance in sport, has just launched a new multi-device anti-doping elearning course and learning management system for the Australian sporting community, created by leading industry experts in learning technologies and solutions, Kineo Pacific.
ASADA is a government statutory authority with a mission to protect Australia's sporting integrity and health of athletes through the elimination of doping. With key themes to engage, deter, detect and enforce as part of their ongoing mission, ASADA's education programme is of the utmost importance as it acts as a key tool focused at preventing doping in sport.
Kineo Pacific worked closely with ASADA's education team to overhaul their existing elearning education programme and revitalise it for the modern age and make it accessible for the modern athlete. The result is ASADA's first multi-device elearning programme built on the Adapt Framework.
Learners in the community, such as coaches and support personnel, amateurs to professional athletes, now have the ability to access the anti-doping course, packed with features including videos of prominent Australian athletes, and core knowledge on anti-doping topics across any smartphone, tablet or PC - regardless of operating system or model. With over 27,000 users on the elearning system and nearly 1,000 users completing the anti-doping course each month, ASADA and Kineo Pacific have made every effort to ensure learners have access to their learning on their preferred devices, and to further their ongoing anti-doping education.
To satisfy the competitive nature of athletes, Kineo Pacific added a unique dashboard for ASADA that tracked learner's progression through the course. The learner's responses to questions were tracked by a custom algorithm built into Adapt that fed into the dashboard, rewarding learners for their progress. Kineo Pacific integrated the Guided Review feature in Adapt, to link assessment questions back to the content, so learners can review precisely the right information in order to have the best chance of successfully completing a subsequent attempt of assessment.
To further enhance ASADA's education programme, Kineo Pacific also implemented a Totara Learning Management System for their 27,000 users that is WCAG AA compliant, and hosts a fully responsive theme for multi-device viewing. Some unique features of the ASADA LMS include the ability for learners to earn up to 12 unique Open Badges for recognising their completed courses, an embedded Twitter feed to keep learners up-to-date with the latest news, and a fully branded customisable interface that enables the LMS administrator full access to update courses, images and content as they see fit.
With the aims of creating a modern anti-doping education programme for the new ear, ASADA and Kineo Pacific have collaborated to create a user-focused elearning programme, that is not only innovative in its multi-device delivery, but also provides engaging features and functionalities suitable for sports-oriented learners. This helps the course achieve its aim of providing ongoing education on anti-doping topics, and furthering the support for the Australian sporting community.
Working with Kineo Pacific allowed us to leverage a team of world class instructional designers and elearning experts in order to create this exciting new course. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and enjoyed the collaborative journey from storyboard through to final delivery. The final product more than meets our expectations and we believe the sporting community will find it a useful tool through which to discover the anti-doping subject. - Chris Butler, ASADA Education Manager.
The online anti-doping courses are available on the ASADA website.
