Adapt Wins Gold for Best Elearning Design Technology at LearnX Awards
For the third consecutive year, the open source multi-device Adapt Framework has been recognised for its achievements in elearning design technology by the Asia-Pacific based LearnX Awards.
The LearnX awards, run by the non-profit LearnX Foundation, has been recognising the industry's best learning and development initiatives across Asia Pacific in education and corporate sectors, for the past eight years.
This year, Adapt Learning has won the Gold Award for Best Elearning Design Technology; it's third consecutive year of being recognised by LearnX for its continued development and achievements within the L&D industry in the region.
Officially launched in October 2013 by City & Guilds Kineo, Adapt has evolved into an innovative, collaborative project, led by a group of learning technology organisations, with the aim of collectively using the power of Open Source to create and support an industry-leading tool for developing elearning that runs on multiple devices.
This approach has broken down barriers of access to multi-device learning technology. With the help of Adapt, L&D teams are now able to build and design responsive elearning courses without the constraints of licenses, or the worry of high costs associated to modernise elearning courses for multi-devices.
This approach also focuses attention on:
- Using a common best-in-class tool means the partnership concentrates effort on making the tool better, and competing on the quality of design and service, not technology
- Helping organisations by making the Adapt Framework code open source and easily accessible
- Creating a global environment; the Adapt Learning community, continues to grow, and encourages the ongoing support of Adapt development, that reaches a community of users and developers that can work together on the project
City & Guilds Kineo has worked with companies such as TUI, The Scout Association, Mitsubishi Motors, and more, to develop innovative and engaing multi-device elearning programmes, built with Adapt. Kineo Pacific, was awarded two Platinum LearnX Awards for their Adapt work with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Best Online Elearning) and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (Best Bespoke Elearning).
Sven Laux, City & Guilds Kineo's Technical Director, and Steering Group Chair and Project Lead of the Adapt Learning Project said of the win: "We are delighted to receive this coveted award for our free, open source tool three years in a row.
