Apprenticeships and professional qualifications transformed through technology
Employers could save thousands of pounds on their training budgets and deliver a more personalised learning experience, thanks to a new technology-led approach to apprenticeships and professional qualifications from City & Guilds Kineo, the global workplace learning company.
The new Managed Learning Service (MLS) is the first solution of its kind that enables employers to motivate their people, attract and retain talent and deliver bottom line results – all in one place. MLS can help employers save money as printing, travel and administration costs are all reduced. In fact, the streamlined service could see training budgets become up to 50% more productive as staff training needs are more effectively matched.
MLS creates blended learning programmes that are mapped to national standards and qualifications awarded by City & Guilds. These include elearning, virtual classrooms and access to curated content and resources. Everything is hosted on the MLS platform - a single system that brings together qualifications, ongoing learning management via Totara LMS, an e-portfolio, management information and reporting and crucially, links to funding where required.
Multinational contract foodservice and support company, Compass Group, is already piloting MLS for seven tailored qualifications with online assessments and expect to save over £250,000.
Managing director of City & Guilds Kineo, Steve Rayson, comments, "Providing qualifications or apprenticeships can be time consuming and costly, and has traditionally involved a huge amount of paperwork and administration. Where there are systems available, organisations often end up dealing with multiple platforms, not to mention extra headaches for the training team. MLS overcomes these barriers."
He continues, "New research by City & Guilds shows that 83% of people under 35 actively wish to develop their skills at work, yet skills gaps continue to plague a number of industries. MLS is a dynamic way to ensure that employees receive professional development in a format that meets their learning needs whilst helping employers close the skills gap and maximise their performance."
City & Guilds Kineo is hosting a complimentary webinar on Wednesday 26 March to explore the challenges employers face in awarding professional qualification and showcasing the new Managed Learning Service and platform. Registration is now open via the website.
