Kineo and City & Guilds to Share New Approaches for Workplace and Vocational Learning at LT13

Brighton, UKLearning NewsKineo

Learners and employers are under increasing pressure. They want access to learning when they need it, and expect a supported, engaging and relevant learning experience. Isolated courses won’t cut it anymore. At the Learning Technologies 2013 in London on January 29th, Kineo and City & Guilds will share their innovations in addressing this challenge.

Leaders in e-learning services Kineo (now part of the  City & Guilds Group) and City & Guilds have worked together to address the engagement and support challenges facing employers, colleagues and learners. The development of the ‘City & Guilds’ Way’ is a major step towards making it possible for employers, learners and deliverers to reach targeted learning and learning support that goes way beyond the traditional course.

Combining video guidance, personalised learning journeys and community tools as well as assessment and tutor and coaching support, the ‘City & Guilds Way’ allows L&D departments to access on-demand, industry-specific experience for learners, managers, and coaches.

Join Kineo and City & Guilds’ free seminar on Tuesday 29th January at 2:45 in Theatre 3 of the main Learning Technologies Exhibition floor. Kirstie Donnelly, Product Director of City & Guilds, and Stephen Walsh, Kineo Director will share the challenges faced in reaching learners in 2013, and the approach that was taken.

The seminar will look at:

  • Motivating learners with communities and curated content
  • YouTube & eBay style posting and sharing
  • Using games, open badges, and challenges to support and reward
  • Innovative resource-driven portal design
  • Enabling coaches and tutors to provide support
