The Guardian shares the secret of e-learning - see for yourself at Kineo
More and more organisations are turning to e-learning and seeing the benefits – that’s not Kineo talking, that’s The Guardian. A recent article in The Guardian highlights how businesses are making the most of e-learning, including Cable & Wireless, one Kineo’s longstanding clients. Kineo’s sharing more tools and examples to help you get e-learning working for you, with access to its free showcase site.
A recent article in The Guardian, called ‘The secret of e-learning’, highlights the benefits e-learning can bring to organisations, especially in an economic downturn. It also shares some useful insights from influential commentators on making e-learning happen, including Kineo client Mike Booth of Cable & Wireless.
Mike points out that e-learning needs time and freedom to be effective: "We provide time for colleagues to develop themselves," Mike explains in the article. "We map out an online career path so they can see what roles they might aspire to and what skills and attributes they'll need, then we point them to suitable training. It takes a third of the time of a classroom-based course to do it online and the information is always on hand as a point of reference."
Elsewhere in the article, Jane Hart of the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies points out that the most effective solutions go beyond formal courses, and include informal methods.
Kineo director Stephen Walsh commented: “The Guardian has it right – both in highlighting the benefits of e-learning from a cost and efficiency perspective, and the importance of designing it right and ensuring a great learner experience comes first. We know it can be challenging to find your way if you’re new to e-learning, and we’re always happy to help companies think through their approach, and share examples of what we do. We’ve created fresh and award-winning e-learning for clients including Cable & Wireless, M&S, and Canon among many others - they’re proof that e-learning can make an impact and make a difference.”
