Merlin to build skills with Kallidus Learning and Performance
Merlin has implemented Kallidus Learning Management System (LMS) to streamline learning administration and improve management reporting. The company has also invested in Kallidus Performance which is set to go live later this year.
The integrated system will enable employees to access training plans online and become more proactive in developing their skills and careers.
Merlin owns and manages almost 8,000 homes in the South West. It has a workforce of around 450 staff who are primarily responsible for managing, maintaining and improving its properties and require regular specialist training programmes, often in high-risk areas involving gas, electrics and the handling of asbestos.
Vicky James, HR Business Partner at Merlin explains the benefits of Kallidus LMS: “It was becoming increasingly difficult to manage such a wide range of different training programmes for our growing workforce using spreadsheets and Outlook. Kallidus has already streamlined training administration and will enable us to quickly see just how compliant we are for high-risk maintenance issues.”
Merlin chose Kallidus from a shortlist of suppliers. Vicky explains why Kallidus LMS stood out:
“We were particularly impressed with how intuitive the system is and its intelligent reporting capabilities. We also liked the fact we could customise the user interface with our corporate branding, which will ensure that it resonates with each and every employee.”
“The Kallidus team has been absolutely fantastic. They have worked in partnership with us from the start, taking the time to really understand our needs and providing invaluable knowledge and insight every step of the way. It helped that most of the Kallidus team have previously worked client-side so they really understand what we are trying to achieve,” Vicky added.
Once Kallidus Performance is live later this year, Merlin plans to explore how it can best use e-learning as an effective training tool, with Kallidus LMS providing a centralised learning platform to deliver and track all training and development across the organisation.
Said Rob Caul, CEO of Kallidus: “We are delighted to be helping Merlin to develop its skilled workforce now and for the future. It’s great to see how committed the company is to training, career development and compliance.”
