e2train launches one-stop-shop Kallidus OnDemand service

Cirencester, UKLearning NewsKallidus

e2train has released a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based solution centred around its highly acclaimed Kallidus 8 learning and performance software. Kallidus OnDemand provides a 'one-stop-shop' where users can create compelling e-learning, administer and report on learning and accreditation programmes, manage skills and competencies and conduct online performance reviews.

The service runs within a powerful, hosted environment provided by leading hosting specialists Star, designed to ensure the highest levels of availability and access.

The Kallidus OnDemand service includes content authoring, learning management and performance management through a single access portal. To mark the launch of the new service, e2train is offering a free month's trial which allows users to test the system by uploading their own users and learning content. Tutorials enable users to get started with the system. Instant messaging with the e2train OnDemand team and access to knowledgebase data provides even more support to triallists.

Explains Martin Belton, Business Development Director at e2train, 'We designed the system to make uploading content, documentation and user information as easy as possible. But the real convenience comes from having all your key learning and development applications within a single, easy to set up portal. We believe Kallidus OnDemand will be ideal for any size company in any sector, who are looking to rationalise their learning services or step up to a fully managed solution. That said, each of the services within Kallidus OnDemand is available as a separate solution. This will be especially useful for learning professionals looking for strategic answers to specific learning challenges.'

e2train's launch of its new OnDemand model is indicative of the way the industry is moving and the increasing demands for SaaS service solutions. According to reports by Bersin & Associates in the United States, SaaS is already the most popular delivery model for Learning Management System (LMS) applications. Even larger organisations now embrace the concept; 47% of organisations with more than 10,000 employees use a SaaS or hosted delivery.

Concludes Belton: 'e2train has offered a hosted LMS model for many years now. The introduction of the full OnDemand service is really testament to the success of that as a solution. It's easy to see why SaaS is so successful. It means little or no burden to your IT department. Start up costs are inevitably lower. Upgrade costs are wiped out and there is usually a better and faster ROI. SaaS solutions are quicker and easier to set up as well.'

Kallidus OnDemand offers all the features of its Kallidus Compose, LMS and Performance products. That includes the latest web gadget-led interface and e2train's powerful new management information reporting tool, launched as part of the Kallidus 8 package in summer 2009.

SkillSoft is supporting the launch of Kallidus OnDemand with a special offer bundle of its leading off-the-shelf e-learning content. Open to all Kallidus OnDemand subscribers, SkillSoft will include bundles of courseware titles covering Office 2003 and/or Office 2007. Each Office bundle has a range of courses catering for both beginners and advanced users covering all the key features of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
