New version of Kallidus LMS enables upload and retrieval of personal learning evidence

Cirencester, UKLearning NewsKallidus

e2train, the UK's leading provider of learning and performance technologies, announces the new version of Kallidus Learning Management System (LMS). Among the system's new features, Kallidus now enables learners to record, store and retrieve their own personal learning evidence and template based assessments.

This functionality enables learners to upload files and utilise them as personal learning evidence. Once learners have completed a report, an essay, a presentation or any other piece of work, the document can be uploaded into Kallidus LMS. It is then stored within the system to demonstrate proof of learning, progress and ongoing personal development. File types that can be uploaded include documents from Microsoft Office such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel, as well as PDFs, plus other files can be specified to suit individual requirements.

This new functionality can also be used to facilitate online assessments. Learners can upload their completed documents within Kallidus LMS for them to be retrieved by a course tutor or a manager for review. Marks can be attributed to the document, or any corrections made, and a new version can then be uploaded for retrieval by the learner. This provides a complete learning loop, as the learner then has their marked or approved work returned to them and stored on the system, plus their original document to refer to in the future.

Rob Caul, Managing Director of e2train comments, 'Kallidus LMS already offers Web 2.0 application tools such as bulletin boards, chatrooms and forums. It also provides free text feedback for classroom events.' He continues, 'The new feature that provides a record of personal learning evidence is extremely useful as it offers learners a central online respository to store all of their learning achievements. Plus it facilitates real interaction between tutors or managers and staff as they move through either classroom, blended or e-learning programmes.'
