A-Plant, one of the world's leading hirers of non-operated plant and construction equipment, is to introduce the concept of e-learning using e2train's Kallidus Authoring Tool. The new courses will compliment other forms of training across its 225 branches throughout Britain.

A-Plant's initial business requirement is to introduce an online version of its induction training packages and paper-based tests. A further issue highlighted by A-Plant was the user training of the company's internal software system Insitu. Insitu manages areas such as point of sale, asset movement and accounts functions. A-Plant is looking to build upon its current training offer and alternative methods of training that could be given over the firm's high speed intranet system, ensuring consistent accessible and timely delivery.

Explained Sarah Muirhead, A-Plant's Training Manager: "Kallidus impressed us with its usability. This is important to us because we have a lot of very effective existing training material and we wanted to maintain the quality of this content, but instead run it online in a quick and cost effective manner. Kallidus enabled us to accomplish this easily and effectively."

Currently the A-Plant training team is putting together the initial training packages, with the help of training and support from e2train's team. In addition, e2train have also authored the preliminary learning material for users of Insitu to help A-Plant meet the company's initial mission critical training needs.

The next step will see A-Plant using Kallidus further for pre and post evaluation, to ensure compliance with A-Plant's Induction requirements such as undertaking basic health and safety training. Sarah added, "Sales support, the help-line and training has been very good too."

Rob Caul, Managing Director of e2train added, "we are very pleased to see Kallidus being used by this industry sector. It just goes to prove the flexibility of Kallidus and e-learning in meeting the needs of the trainers as well as compliance issues."
