SiteJazzer Eases Creation of HTML5 Web Elements for Websites

Redmond, WA 98073Learning NewsHarbinger Group

New release will enable websites with SiteJazzer elements to run on iPhones and iPads.

Harbinger Knowledge Products announced a significant addition to SiteJazzer, its online software service for adding website embellishments. The service now enables users to create and add HTML5 web elements to their websites in addition to the Adobe Flash output it supports. HTML5 is the next major revision of the HTML standard on the web. It gained much popularity recently when Apple favored it over Adobe Flash for the Safari web browser on its iPhones and iPads.

The immediate impact of supporting HTML5 is that SiteJazzer-enabled websites can play on iPhone and iPad devices, but the company wants to go after a standard that is fast being supported on all web browsers. HTML5 is already supported on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, and a new version of the dominant Internet Explorer browser from Microsoft, slated to come out soon, will also support the technology.

"We see HTML5 as a critical component of the future web, and a great technology for delivering interactive content." said Vikas Joshi, chairman and managing director of the Harbinger Group. "Our goal is to enable businesses across the board to convey their message and showcase their content interactively on their website in an easy and cost-effective manner. Both Flash and HTML5 are important mediums for doing that."

SiteJazzer launched about two months ago, and enabled creation of web elements such as countdown timers, 3D flip book and panning cards in Flash. Like Flash, HTML5 supports many relatively complex interactions required for modern websites, and the company claims that users will benefit from a tool that creates these web elements in HTML5 very easily.

"The HTML standard has come a long way with HTML5," said Seema Chaudhary, president of Harbinger Knowledge Products. "It has far-reaching capabilities like animations, support for video/audio and drag-and-drop that can really make for great visitor experience on a website. SiteJazzer enables creation of these 'jazzy' elements without the need for any programming, and that is its unique value proposition."
