Harbinger Knowledge Products, a company that strives to redefine the way people interact and learn on the web, today announced the FlockPod Beta 1.1 release. This new release allows people to embed social interactions in their web pages with a small piece of code, and also unveils multiple new interactions that position FlockPod as a software for on-the-spot discussions, collaborative referencing and spot polls.
The new version sports Link Sets, which allow people to leave behind useful links on a page to guide others when they visit that page. Likewise, readers can visit links left by others and rank them by relevance to the context.
The new version also allows a user to find out what others are thinking without leaving what he/she is reading. This helps in getting a quick pulse of everyone's opinion, detecting a trend, and in making a decision.
The debate functionality in the earlier version is further enhanced based on Beta user feedback. The stoppage and deletion of a debate is now supported in a more consistent way.
"Just a small piece of code is what stands between an otherwise static Web page and lively social interaction.", said Vikas Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, Harbinger Group, "Now that FlockPod opens out this simple code, users can easily embed pods in their own pages themselves."
FlockPod is really easy to subscribe, integrate and use, requiring absolutely no download or installation. That coupled with FlockPod's visually appealing and functionally sound interface lends itself to a satisfying user experience.
Talking about this unique hosted service, Seema Chaudhary, Director, Business Development said, "Now FlockPod has gone beyond debates, and it is fast emerging as a comprehensive platform for several on-the-spot social interactions."
About FlockPod
FlockPod is the world's first software for on-the-spot social interactions, leading to informal learning.
FlockPod, still in its Beta version, is a new software subscription service that enables participants to harness the knowledge from peer contributions right within the context of a webpage. The central idea of FlockPod is to provide a space on any web page for people to collaborate right on-the-spot, to share ideas, opinions, experiences, anecdotes or sometimes even to question, reason or debate.
The FlockPod platform is based on a first of its kind patent-pending technology for social learning developed at Harbinger.
