The Learning Awards, run by the Learning and Performance Institute, represent the highest achieving individuals and organisations in the field of learning and development.

This year, the awards attracted hundreds of entries from around the world, and each shortlisted finalist had to demonstrate exceptional performance and contribution to the learning profession.

House of Fraser is shortlisted in the ‘External Learning Solution of the Year’ category. Growth Engineering built ‘House of Learning’ for them, an LMS which they use to deliver training to their nationwide workforce.

It focuses on structured role-based learning paths, personal development and just-in-time business-focused resources. The programme’s focus on engaging the learner has proven cost-effective, leading to increased performance and reduced staff turnover.

In addition, Steinhoff UK Retail has been shortlisted alongside Growth Engineering in the ‘Onboarding Solution of the Year’ category. Their platform is named ‘Steinhoff Learning Store’ and is used to organise a truly blended learning programme for Steinhoff’s UK businesses – Bensons for Beds and Harveys.

Steinhoff have recently invested another £1 million into the project to build the 9,000-square-foot Steinhoff Development Centre, complete with mock stores, warehouses and customer homes. Since opening, every new starter to the business travels to the Development Centre for a week-long, intensive, blended course, before they get the chance to step inside a store. The approach has reduced attrition rates, and is having a big impact on sales figures.

Edmund Monk, LPI Managing Director, said: “The depth and quality of submissions continues to rise and I’m delighted to see that business performance improvement features heavily in the submissions. I’d like to offer my congratulations to all the Finalists and look forward to seeing them at The Dorchester on 2nd February 2017.”

Juliette Denny, Managing Director of Growth Engineering, said: “This is shaping up to be our most exciting awards season yet! I’m super proud of our team and our clients for making the finals, and can’t wait for the next stage of the contest. Bring on the judges!”

The next stage of the awards involves making presentations to judges throughout November. The winners will then be announced at an Awards Ceremony on February 2, at The Dorchester in London.

The full list of finalists can be found on the LPI Learning Awards website.
