Reckitt, in collaboration with GP Strategies and PRELOADED, has won four prestigious awards in 2023 for Dettol Hygiene Quest — a hybrid learning program designed to build long-lasting hygiene habits for children.

Dettol Hygiene Quest was recognized with two gold awards for “Best Initiative for Philanthropy and Corporate Giving” at the Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards, and “Best Advance in Social Impact Innovation” at the Brandon Hall Group Technology Excellence Awards. The program also received a gold award for “Excellence in Community Service” at the CLO Learning in Practice Awards and a silver award for “Excellence in the Design of Learning Content in the Public and Non-Profit Sector” at the Learning Technologies Awards.

To promote positive behavior change in children, Dettol Hygiene Quest combines interactive play and story-led learning. Anchored in meaningful storytelling, the experience drives real-world health outcomes by empowering children to play, practice, and learn. In only the first year, the Hygiene Quest was implemented in five countries, trained 33,077 teachers, and reached over 1.9 million people. It created measurable impact for these people, leading students to wash their hands 20% more in the UK, reducing Covid-19 instances by 14% in Italy, and lowering diarrhea rates in Nigeria by 7%.

“Dettol Hygiene Quest fuses behavioral science with popular culture to create an immersive learning experience designed to build lasting habits in children across the world. We are immensely proud of this recognition and couldn’t have done it without our partners across the world.” said Hamzah Sarwar, Global Impact and Partnerships Director at Reckitt.

“We are delighted to get so much industry recognition for a flagship program, said Andrew Joly, Head of Strategy at GP Strategies. Hygiene Quest brought together the very best in learning design with perfect creative realization and results we are really proud of.”
