PDS announces Tech Industry Gold accreditation

Wokingham (UK)Learning NewsGlobal Knowledge

September 13th 2014 – PDS, a division of Global Knowledge, announces the introduction of Tech Industry Gold software developer and IT technician apprenticeships to its UK portfolio, making it easier for employers to develop new talent and equip young people for a career in technology.

Tech Industry Gold is a new accreditation, designed to point employers and prospective apprentices to programmes that deliver first class learning and development. This accreditation enhances the PDS portfolio of apprenticeships with Tech Industry Gold accreditation of its Software Developer Level 3 and Level 4, and IT Technician Level 3 programmes.

These new apprenticeships promise to make it easy for businesses to develop new talent offering the highest quality development programmes. They have been created by employers, including BT, Capgemini, Fujitsu, IBM, Oracle and Visa Europe, with support from The Tech Partnership (formerly e-skills).

The accreditation panel made up of leading IT employers particularly noted that the PDS application had equal passion for quality apprenticeship delivery for both apprentices and employers, making particular reference that it was very evident that quality is at the heart of its delivery.

Commenting on the successful accreditation, David Willett Director of Education and Talent said; “For PDS and Global Knowledge, Tech Industry Gold certification is both a market differentiator and more importantly a validation of our passion for helping customers manage talent through the delivery of business centric and high quality Apprenticeship programmes. It is also recognition for all the PDS team and in particular our clients that we are able to design and deliver high quality technology apprenticeships that meet their business needs.  Our clients’ requirements for skills and talent are at the heart of everything we do; being recognised that our bespoke apprenticeship solutions meet these industry gold standards is a real success”.

Helen West, Head of Skills Development, The Tech Partnership (formerly e-skills), says: “The awarding of Tech Industry Gold accreditation to an apprenticeships provider shows that their services satisfy the needs of the UK’s future IT workforce. PDS is one of the first to achieve the new standard, as their programmes show clear attention and responsiveness to the requirements of the UK’s hiring IT employers.”
