New CCNP Service Provider certification courses from Global Knowledge
Global Knowledge, Cisco’s EMEAR Learning Partner of the Year, today announced the availability of the new Cisco Certified Network Professional certification for service providers (CCNP SP). This new certification consists of four new courses: SPROUTE, SPADVROUTE, SPCORE and SPEDGE and follows on from the CCNA Service Provider certification (CCNA SP) announced earlier this year.

Engineers participating in this specialised service provider certification will be trained in the latest core and intelligent edge technologies, providing the knowledge and skills required to deliver a scalable carrier-grade infrastructure capable of rapid expansion to support the on-going introduction of new managed services and customer requirements.
The lab environments within these courses are based on Cisco service provider carrier-grade core, edge and access hardware along with the latest Cisco IOS XR, Cisco IOS XE and Cisco IOS Software.
SPROUTE - Deploying Cisco Service Provider Network Routing v1.0 is designed to provide service provider professionals with information on the use of advanced routing in implementing scalability for Cisco routers that are connected to LANs and WANs.
In SPADVROUTE - Deploying Cisco Service Provider Advanced Network Routing v1.0 professionals learn how to implement and support a service provider network.
SPCORE - Implementing Cisco Service Provider Next-Generation Core Network Services v1.0 is focused on the concepts and capabilities of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and on the best practices for implementing QoS in a new or existing Service Provider environment.
SPEDGE - Implementing Cisco Service Provider Next-Generation Edge Network Services v1.0 is designed to provide service provider professionals with information on the use of service provider VPN solutions.
This new CCNP SP Certification will be replacing the current CCIP certification which will be retired on the 29th of October 2012. The CCNA SP certification (SPNGN1 and SPNGN2) is the prerequisite for this new certification.
