Firebrand Training launch new Microsoft Azure Apprenticeship programmes
Firebrand partner with Microsoft to launch new Azure apprenticeship programmes. Four new IT apprenticeships will teach young professionals Azure skills and support Microsoft’s commitment to 30,000 new apprentices by 2020.
Firebrand, leaders in accelerated training, launched four new IT apprenticeships aligned to Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure.
Firebrand is one of three Academies working in partnership with Microsoft to deliver these apprenticeships. The announcement aligns with a commitment made by Microsoft to deliver 30,000 apprentices by 2020 and the imminent of arrival of the Apprenticeship Levy in April.
Microsoft has also partnered with the National Apprenticeship Service to promote the benefits of apprenticeships. Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service, said:
“Employer-led apprenticeship reforms continue to improve the quality of apprenticeships to provide the skills that employers need. Apprenticeships work for businesses of all sizes – from small and medium employers to macro employers, giving employers the opportunity to train individuals in the roles their business needs.
“Apprenticeships also bring opportunity; to attract new talent, offer progression and develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce. There has never been a better time to employ an apprentice.”
The new Azure Apprenticeships are built around existing apprenticeship standards from the government and are tailored by Firebrand to provide the skills employers need. The apprenticeships also include £10,000’s of accelerated Microsoft Azure training and certification.
Firebrand’s Managing Director, Stefano Capaldo, says:
“We’ve developed these accelerated Azure apprenticeships -- in partnership with Microsoft -- to reflect the knowledge and skills demanded by UK businesses.
“We’re excited to see these apprenticeships shape and develop Azure skills for the next generation of IT professionals.”
Firebrand’s accelerated Microsoft Azure apprenticeships
Four new Azure-focused apprenticeships, built around existing standards, are now available.
- Azure Infrastructure Technicians learn to support internal and external customers by resolving virtual and on-premise queries. Apprentices will also study virtual machine (VM) administration.
- Azure Software Developers learn to design, build and test Azure solutions and applications. These apprentices will also learn how to build and host application infrastructure in Azure.
- Azure Cyber Security Technologists will use their Azure knowledge to identify cyber threats and risks to organisations and people.
- Azure Network Engineers focus on virtual networks whilst learning how to design, install and support communications within an organisation.
