Filtered and ICAEW shortlisted for Best Training Initiative in the AEA 2016
Filtered.com and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) have been shortlisted for Best Training Initiative in the Association Excellence Awards 2016. The second edition of the awards, which identify best practice by trade and professional associations, saw an impressive 25% increase in the number of submissions.
Filtered is an online training platform that uses adaptive learning technologies to tailor courses to each individual’s needs and existing knowledge. Courses cover essential business disciplines from leadership and management to strategy, spreadsheeting, project management and compliance. Clients include Asda, New Look, EE and Regus.
The ICAEW is a world leader of the accountancy and finance profession. It provides its members with knowledge and guidance based on the highest ethical and technical standards. The ICAEW was established in 1880 and it has over 144,000 members and 9,000 students worldwide.
Filtered and the ICAEW partnered in early 2014 to provide the ICAEW Excel Community members with access to Filtered’s Excel online training to help them understand Excel better and use it more efficiently, saving them time and money. In addition, members are educated through blogs, forums, e-bulletins, events and webinars, jointly promoted by Filtered and the ICAEW.
Chris Littlewood, co-founder and Head of Science at Filtered, commented enthusiastically on being a finalist at the Association Excellence Awards 2016: "We’re delighted to see that our approach is recognised as a tangible, valuable solution not only by committed clients such as the ICAEW but by the wider L&D industry, too. What drove us to develop Filtered was a desire to make training as effective as possible, by connecting learners with the most valuable content for them. We have all experienced nuggets of fantastic training – where skills or insight are developed to make a big difference to our performance. We want to be able to select these gems of valuable training reliably, and so we based our personalisation algorithm on real data: our recommendations are grounded in real learners’ experience."
Richard Anning, Head of the ICAEW IT Faculty, also commented: “To be shortlisted for this award shows the dedication of the Excel Community to its goals of providing top-quality Excel training and guidance in reducing the risk of spreadsheet errors. Members benefit from the wide range of training modules, blog posts, and forum support, as well as pioneering thought leadership such as the 20 Principles for Good Spreadsheet Practice.”
Winners will be announced at the Association Excellence Awards Ceremony on 26th February at the Hilton, London Bankside. For more information visit http://associationexcellenceawards.co.uk/.
