What are the skills needed in a modern Learning and Development team? The LPI's Capability Map describes 30 skills needed by today's L&D teams. It provides a self assessment for individuals and teams with analytics and curated resources to bridge skills gaps.
The Capability Map was established 10 years ago and is used around the world in around 100 countries and is on its fourth iteration. it's been updated for 2025 with additional skills in AI, change management and data analytics.
The Capability Map's technology was built by Rise Up and Kepler + Co. Camilia Miccolis from Rise Up, Kelsey Gauld from Kepler + Co and Sarah Hatton from the LPI join Learning News to present the updated 2025 map and explain how it works.
