EssentialSkillz launches new Mental Health Awareness course

Chester, Cheshire Learning NewsEssentialSkillz

EssentialSkillz has announced the launch of a new Mental Health Awareness course that aims to help organisations start a conversation about mental health in the workplace.

The course also serves as the first entry in a new Wellbeing Pack that is currently being developed by the company for 2019. Although the topic of mental health has become more openly discussed in recent years, it still remains a difficult subject for thousands of workers throughout the UK.

“We are thrilled with the new addition to our ever-growing course list,” said Julian Roberts, EssentialSkillz CEO. "Approximately one in four people will experience some form of mental health problem each year. In contrast, less than a quarter of workers and managers receive training to address mental health concerns. With the launch of this course, we hope to turn the tide and help organisations champion the cause of positive mental health in the workplace”.

UK organisations that invest in health and wellbeing initiatives for their employees have the potential to see a significant return on investment. Recent research indicates that mental health support in the workplace can save businesses up to £8 billion per year.

The Mental Health Awareness course aims to break the stigma surrounding workplace mental health and encourage users to engage in an open dialogue with their colleagues about issues that can affect thousands of workers every day. It introduces users to the importance of mental health and provides them with insightful information on factors that can affect their wellbeing, as well as the people that they work with. It also offers effective advice on how users should react in crisis situations, and how they can offer assistance.

With the addition of the Mental Health Awareness course to its eLearning library, EssentialSkillz continues to build on its success and explore effective eLearning solutions.
