Bradford College exceeds Ofsted standards with Enterprise Study’s accurate reporting capabilities

Bradford College, the fourth largest college in the UK, required a comprehensive and affordable training management application to centralise all relevant information and produce detailed reports. Enterprise Study fulfilled this requirement.

In partnership with Enterprise Study since 2005, Bradford College has a team of 1,700 staff which delivers hundreds of courses each year to over 23,000 learners. Having a national reputation in a number of fields, the college has been awarded the Training Quality Standard and has been deemed “Outstanding” in several areas by Ofsted, the official body for inspecting schools & colleges.

Prior to implementing ES, Bradford were using a bespoke application that had been built in-house, similar to an Access database. Having been benchmarked against two other systems, Enterprise Study LMS proved to be leader of the pack for a number of reasons. Christian McGrath, Staff Development Officer, explains: “Enterprise Study offered a comprehensive system with all the functionality we required, at a very affordable price. It enables us to manage our training offers, better plan our resources, and produce accurate management information quickly.” He adds: “A further advantage of the ES system is that it is cloud based, which means the college can benefit from on-going development and improvements, rather than having to pay for software upgrades.”

Christian and his team use the system to manage several areas, including compliance management. Certain disciplines, such as Student Safeguarding, are mandatory and having evidence of such training being completed by the right staff is important. Continued Professional Development (CPD), also plays a huge part in the training operations at Bradford, and ES LMS provides the college with the tools to create individual CPD records for staff to ensure a much higher success rate, which directly impacts the success of the college.

ES LMS supports the staff development team to deliver training that helps both meet and exceed the standards set by regulatory bodies such as Ofsted and IFL, alongside reaching their own goals as a learning organisation.
