Learning Map, an innovative online tool for designing short, bite-sized learning chunks, will be presented at Learning Technologies 2014 by Edynco.

Edynco will be presenting a brand new approach of creating and organizing learning contents and resources by using Learning Map. Learning Map visually presents a topic with learning steps (nodes) which are connected with an interactive learning path. Each node consists of only three basic elements: title, short summary and attached multimedia resource. This combination enables quick understanding of a topic since it prevents student's overload while acquiring new information.

"With Edynco we aimed at enabling a more engaging and memorable learning experience for our learners. We wanted to give them what they needed – short, less linear, bite sized and interactive e-learning. And Learning Map visual interface enables just that,” said Tadej Stanic, CEO of Edynco.

Learning Map is a gateway to relevant learning materials. Educators are able to connect existing learning materials: videos, pdfs, images, web links, embedded resources such as YouTube videos and SlideShares, quizzes, recorded audio or video lectures in a new and coherent whole that is digestible and meaningful.

Learning materials are attached to nodes which are followed by the learners, who are in this way navigated through the learning topic. That encourages learner's curiosity and interactivity. The title and short summary given in every node prevent distraction and help learners to quickly recognize the essence of the topic.

To enhance the Learning Map there are two special features - Quiz creator and Micro lecture recorder.

Learning Map can be shared in a secure online learning environment where Learning Maps get a second dimension.

Collaboration

Simple learner’s management, communication via a forum or messaging system, assignments, assessments and analytics are provided inside the privately held groups.

Educators are also able to export Learning Maps to their preferred LMS.

Benefits of Learning Map

  • Learners take control of their learning pace in that way maintains interest
  • Learners can access learning content in several shorter sessions which prevents cognitive overload. This kind of a structure facilitates reusability and easier updating
  • Presenting from general to specific helps learners to use, store and recall information much easier
  • In spite of different learning resource types, Learning Map gives learners a consistent graphic outlook

“With Edynco we tried to simplify the development of learning contents and resources for everyone who wishes to spread knowledge, such as SMEs, instructional designers, line managers, HR managers, learning professionals and teachers.

"The main driving force at this point was the fact that new learning contents, carrying an extensive range of information, emerge on the internet on a daily basis: useful blog posts, videos, instructive games, etc. Learning contents can thus be produced by anyone, since technology enables us to do just that,” added Tadej Stanic.

Edynco will be exhibiting at the Learning Technologies 2014 event on January 29 and 30 at Olympia, London on Stand No. 93.
