DuPont Sustainable Solutions has developed a new workplace safety training program that discusses standard protocols on the handling, inspection, and maintenance of various personal protective equipment (PPE).
PPE: Inspect and Respect takes a close look at hard hats, earplugs and earmuffs, safety glasses, goggles and face shields, chemical and electrical gloves, respirators, protective footwear, and harnesses and lanyards. The program explains how each piece of equipment works and how it can protect employees from specific safety risks.
PPE: Inspect and Respect helps train employees to spot the signs of physical damage to their equipment. Showing them where to look and what to look for, the program identifies the critical parts of safety gear and offers safety dos and don'ts. The program also provides a detailed look at a hard hat's suspension system, the anatomy of a respirator, the proper way to wear gloves, and the correct procedures for washing earmuffs.
