VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Oct. 2, 2012 – DuPont Sustainable Solutions has released Slips, Trips and Falls: Split Second Safety, a new training program that introduces the "split-second safety" blueprint to help employees avoid slips, trips and falls.
This training program reminds employees that it only takes a split-second lapse of awareness to slip, trip or fall and suffer a costly, life-long injury. It discusses how to be more aware of your surroundings, and explains how, why and where slips, trips and falls occur. The program helps employees maintain a safety mindset and adopt safe work practices.
Slips, Trips and Falls: Split Second Safety opens with sobering statistics on slips, trips and falls. These incidents cost tens of billions of dollars in medical expenses. Eighty percent of workers who trip and fall on the stairs will suffer long-term injuries like brain damage and paralysis. And fatal falls due to slips and trips kill 700 workers each year.
