CompTIA opens Singapore Office
CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, has opened a new regional office in Singapore to support its fast growing Southeast Asian membership in the information technology (IT) world.
The region's IT industry is growing quickly, especially with the worldwide economic recovery. CompTIA aims to provide certifications to IT professionals and set vendor-neutral industry standards and practices.
CompTIA has engaged Yeow Cheng Lian as its Regional Director for the Southeast Asia Region. Ms. Yeow has a wealth of experience in the IT educational services business particularly in Asia. Prior to joining CompTIA, Ms Yeow was Head of Educational Services Business for Sun Microsystems, Asia South.
"The dynamic growth of Singapore's high-tech sector and its status as a world-class business hub makes it an ideal locale to manage our activities in Southeast Asia," said John Venator, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA. Venator is visiting Singapore and Malaysia this month to meet key government officials and senior executives and to discuss CompTIA's involvement in Southeast Asia.
