Bristol, UKLearning NewsCivica

CM Group will host an interactive session on Social Learning in a Mobile World on the 11th May as part of KnowledgePool’s Learning Discoveries Club Innovation Day.

Alex Mackman, Technical Director at CM Group explained, “I will show how technology is no longer a barrier to social learning, and how organisations are integrating the latest best-of-breed social technologies with their learning solutions to enhance a wide range of learning and development programmes. Attendees will also be able to gain a hands-on experience of using a variety of social features within a native mobile learning App.”

CM Group’s Luminosity Learning Solutions includes the cloud-based and mobile-ready Luminosity Learning Management System (LMS). The global top 10 LMS comes with full SCORM and Tin Can support, and a range of Luminosity Mobile Learning Apps that enables targeted content of multiple types to be downloaded and consumed offline, with full tracking. Supporting an organisation’s BYOD strategy, the Apps provide a native App-based learning experience across iOS, Android and Windows 8 devices.

Luminosity has a range of social learning capabilities including content ranking, comments, discussion forums and integration with corporate systems such as SharePoint, Yammer and Twitter. To stimulate learner engagement and peer to peer interaction, Luminosity’s gamification features mean that as well as supporting each other, staff can also compete with colleagues in a friendly environment, which encourages regular usage of learning content and performance support materials.

Alex continued, “While the session will be practical and hands-on, I will also present some key factors that need to be considered prior to any social or mobile learning project and will highlight, by way of real examples, some of the major benefits that can be achieved.”

CM Group has delivered many large scale social and mobile learning programmes to some of the biggest organisations in the world, including Microsoft, Telefónica, Orion Energy and RBS.
