CM Group to create bespoke eLearning programme for the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office

Bristol, UKLearning NewsCivica

CM Group, one of the UK’s largest providers of bespoke eLearning, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to create and deploy a bespoke eLearning programme for the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO).

CM Group’s Learning Consultants will conduct a training needs analysis prior to the design and creation of the eLearning programme, before using its own rapid and collaborative eLearning authoring tool, Luminosity Studio, to produce high quality and engaging HTML5-based eLearning. Creating eLearning in HTML5 format will guarantee access for internet browsers as old as Internet Explorer 5. The eLearning will be delivered via Luminosity Reach, CM Group’s cloud based Learning Management System.

John Dawson, Channel Manager at the UKHO said, “We are the world’s leading supplier of nautical products and services; therefore we need to ensure that the knowledge within our global distribution channel is accurate and comprehensive. CM Group produced our eLearning programme to train navigational deck officers on ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service (AVCS) when it was first launched, so we know from experience that they will deliver an eLearning programme of excellent quality and educational effectiveness.”

The UKHO produces a worldwide series of some 3,500 paper nautical charts, 200 publications under the ADMIRALTY brand and Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs). The ADMIRALTY portfolio is sold globally and used by nearly 70% of international shipping. The eLearning programme will support the UKHO’s ongoing commitment of ensuring that the global network of ADMIRALTY Chart Agents has access to the latest knowledge and information to assist in the sale and support of ADMIRALTY Nautical Products and Services.

Tim Buff, CEO and Chief Learning Strategist at CM Group said, “We are delighted to be working with the UKHO again.  By combining our educational consultancy services, our eLearning courseware design and creation capability and our cloud based Learning Management System, we are providing a comprehensive learning solution which will help drive new business for the UKHO across the world.”
