Warsash Superyacht Academy selects CM Group’s Luminosity Motion mobile learning platform and learning App

Bristol, UKLearning NewsCivica

CM Group today announced that Warsash Superyacht Academy, the world’s premier maritime education and training provider, has selected Luminosity Motion, CM Group’s mobile learning platform and the Luminosity Mentor learning and corporate communications App.

Warsash Superyacht Academy is a pioneering initiative from Warsash Maritime Academy and Southampton Solent University. It is the world's premier maritime education and training establishment. Warsash provides high quality education and training to meet the growing international demand for crew, officers and Captains. With the launch of its new learning App it will become the first superyacht academy to enable its students to access learning materials, Warsash news and social media via iPad's. All the content will be delivered to the App from the Luminosity Motion mobile learning platform.

"With its modern look and feel, and ease of use, the Luminosity Mentor App will be a perfect fit for us," said Lars Lippuner, Business Development Manager at Warsash. "Both Warsash and our students will benefit greatly from the App. From an organisational perspective, the App deployment will help us reduce both the time and costs involved in producing, updating and distributing paper-based course material, and from our students' perspective it removes the need to carry large and heavy course material with them whilst they are travelling globally."

As an organisation that is committed to providing pioneering solutions and a student learning experience that exceeds expectations, Luminosity Mentor will enable Warsash to continue to lead in a fast changing and competitive environment.

"For almost 70 years Warsash has been a world class provider of maritime education, innovation, research and development. Being the first major superyacht academy to deliver training to students via an App will continue to enhance our reputation as a world leader," continued Lippuner.

Warsash will launch its learning and corporate communications App at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2013, the most prestigious pleasure boat show in the world.

"We are delighted to be working with Warsash", said Tim Buff, CEO and Chief Learning Strategist at CM Group. "CM Group already has considerable experience of the maritime environment, with our strong relationship with naval training colleges, the Royal Navy and the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office. This latest deal signifies our ability to meet the high demands placed upon us by organisations within this innovative and exciting environment."
