An increasing number of office workers think that online training is the most important digital tool in 2018 and 2019. New research has uncovered that office workers think that online training is more important than even new technologies, such as voice search and augmented reality.

A study by Calls9, who build web and mobile platforms that increase team productivity, has revealed that online training in both 2018 and 2019 is the most important digital technology, followed by intranets in 2018 and cloud storage in 2019.

In fact, office workers appear to agree that online training, cloud storage, intranets, conference calling and messaging apps are the most important five technologies in 2018 and 2019.

What’s more, technologies like augmented reality appear to have made very little progress in business, coming both last in the survey for both 2018 and 2019.

On the research, Richard Sutcliffe from Calls9 says that “this underpins the need for companies to better harness their internal digital innovations in order to better train and develop staff. Intranets especially are popular today but without proper consideration for the users and employees within a business and an understanding of emerging technologies they are likely to quickly fall behind.”
