Developed with Belfast based company Aurion Learning, All about us won the Disability category at a gala presentation dinner held on Thursday 10th June at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Singer and actress Barbara Dixon presented the award to FPA Chief Executive Julie Bentley, who said: "We're over the moon. We were the only non-disability organisation in the category so winning this award is a huge achievement. This is a great accolade for everyone in FPA and especially our team in Northern Ireland who produced All about us and worked with Aurion Learning to make it the effective and engaging resource that people like so much."

All about us is believed to be the only resource of its kind in the world. Produced using words, pictures and storylines it covers understanding emotions, keeping safe, what it means to become an adult and appropriate behaviour in public and private spaces in a way people with moderate to medium learning disabilities find easy to understand. Complementing sex and relationships education (SRE) in the home, school, and other learning environments, All about us can also be used by someone with learning disabilities on their own.

The Disability category at the Charity Awards 2010 was sponsored by the Social Investment Business and their Chief Executive Jonathan Lewis joined Barbara Dixon on stage for the award presentation. Now in its eleventh year, The Charity Awards is the pre-eminent awards programme for the UK's vibrant and diverse voluntary sector.
