Speaking about the new CPD Centre, Robert Heslett, president of the Law Society said:

"We wanted to develop a tool to help our 115,475 members complete mandatory CPD quickly and easily. The CPD Centre helps members self-assess to identify any development gaps; plan their development goals and CPD activities, and record completed activities for verification. It even recommends suitable training courses based on their skills gaps.

The CPD Centre also features a searchable online catalogue with hundreds of training courses by accredited training providers including The Law Society, BPP Professional Education, Central Law Training and The College of Law. Members can search training courses by course title, area of law, region, date, training provider, course type and price, and buy them online. Even better, the CPD Centre is free for all members so we encourage everyone to sign up and give it a try."

The CPD Centre has been designed and developed for the Law Society by Aurion Learning, a specialist online learning solutions provider. Speaking about the launch, Barry Kelly, Product Development Manager at Aurion Learning, commented:

"Our CPD Centre really does make it easy for members of the Law Society to complete their CPD. We have even developed a suite of Law Society e-learning programmes especially for the CPD Centre including The Solicitor's Code of Conduct, Lexcel Quality Standards, Solicitors' Accounts Rules 1998 and Money Laundering Regulations 2007, so members don't even have to leave their desk to complete CPD. The e-learning courses are interactive and engaging and feature real-life scenarios to put the learning into context. They are each accredited for two hours of CPD."
