To support its continued high growth and success in online learning for professional education and complex subjects, WillowDNA has appointed Lisa Minogue-White as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Having been the first UK university to be given awarding powers, BPP (a WillowDNA customer) announced the launch of their first purely online business degree.  This is one of many examples that demonstrates a shift in online learning provision and as such, the products and services that e-learning companies are providing to their customers. Raising awareness of online learning providers with specialism in dealing with more complex subjects is timely and has led Willow to appoint a new Director of Sales and Marketing.

"Our customers are equally distributed between corporate, accrediting bodies and business schools - what they have in common is that they are all dealing with subjects that require time to mastery - programmes that support learners different learning experiences along a journey to excellence." Says Lisa Minogue-White.  "However, there is still evidence to suggest that the learning and development community may not be aware that there are providers working exclusively in this space and that complex subjects require a different approach than traditional e-learning or workshops focussed programmes"

Having led the Learning Design team for the past 7 years, Lisa has experienced first hand what customers need to support more substantive programmes and what this means in terms of instructional design, technology and support.  "My focus at WillowDNA has always been to nurture our customer relationships, as the nature of our work requires deep insight and partnership.  This new appointment is incredibly exciting as it enables us to raise the profile of online learning for professional education, by sharing what we have learnt whilst taking our customers on their online journey."

"The challenge in digitising subjects that have, up to now, felt untouchable, has largely been lack of awareness of what's possible and the advantages that online brings.  My aim is to bring some clarity to the market and share some of our work to help learning professionals make informed buying decisions."

One of the first areas of focus will be to share Willow's experience in marrying online communities and formal online learning "The recent shortlisting of Initiative's incredible work marrying online community with structured online learning to tackle a highly complex but essential business tool is just one example of the stories we need to be sharing. Over the coming months, we'll be providing insights into communities and online learning through the publication of case studies, webinars and articles, so watch this space!"

Lisa will be out in the US at DevLearn later this Autumn and you can catch her interview with Clive Shepherd for e-Learning Age in this month's online edition.
