WillowDNA and Cisco proud to announce their sponsorship of the CLO Network SouthWest

This september sees the launch of a new network for senior learning and development, organisational development and talent professionals. Through quarterly breakfast meetings in Bristol, as well as a regular webinar series, it aims to provide opportunities to share ideas and connect with peers based in the South West, Wales and surrounding regions.

The learning profession is changing dramatically, arguable at a faster pace than many other disciplines.  Complexity, technology and changing working patterns and expectations are pulling learning into sharp focus, with many traditional approaches no longer fit for purpose.  However, feedback from senior players in learning have highlighted a need for more strategically focussed networking groups.  Many events and membership bodies focus on more operational issues and have not truly tackled many of the more challenging and strategic topics that will ensure learning and development assure their place as key enablers of business success.

Recognising the importance of such a forum, Lisa Minogue-White, Head of Learning Design at WillowDNA and Andy Gutteridge, Learning Solutions Manager EMEA at Cisco have worked together to launch a free to join professional network, designed to connect senior learning professionals on key topics facing this fast changing discipline.  Through quarterly networking events and regular webinars, CLO Network South West aims to provide opportunities to discuss the hot topics in strategic L&D and hear about latest learning projects and approaches from peers in the industry.

Says Lisa Minogue-White 'Working in the online and collaborative learning space, we recognise the power of the peer network.  Hearing how others are tackling their organisation's learning needs and sharing all the real life context, constraints, imagination and drive that it entails is very valauble and time well spent.  However we also know that professional networks need support and facilitation to make them flourish, that's why this project is the perfect opportunity for WillowDNA and Cisco to share their expertise in this area and help make this a successful, vibrant and valuable network.'

WillowDNA and Cisco are sponsoring these events by supporting the marketing, organisation and funding of events.  However the events are run for member interest and the agenda is driven by and for it's membership.

The inaugural event is on Friday 27th September at the prestigious Bristol and Bath Science Park Innovation Centre.  Tickets are free to senior learning professionals and the event starts at 8.30am with breakfast served from 8am.  Visit the events page for more information on the event and to sign up.
