The IPA Foundation Certificate, the flagship online CPD programme developed in collaboration with WillowDNA has been shortlisted for the People and Performance: Harnessing Technology award.

On the 5th of April 2012, Stephen Citron, Director of the 2012 Peer Awards, sponsored by The Independent, said: “We are delighted to announce that the IPA Foundation Programme, developed with WillowDNA, has been shortlisted for The 2012 Peer Awards for Excellence.”

In reaction to this news, Patrick Mills, Director of CPD at the IPA, described why the IPA Foundation Programme has been such an online success.  He said:“The growth from launch in 2004, with 280 delegates in one qualification, to today with over 6,500 delegates on six qualifications, clearly demonstrates that this career-long programme, with relevance across all agency types, is well embedded in agency training programmes. E-learning has enabled agency staff to learn ‘on-the-go’.  It has ensured that agencies get value for money and that learning from agency practitioners is always up-to-date. This has attracted overseas markets to buy into the programme, such as to Europe, with active discussions in the Middle East, India and China in hand.”

Lisa Minogue-White, who led the WillowDNA development team delivering the programme, describing why she believed the work attracted the attention of the Peer Awards, said: “The qualification delivers an interactive, dynamic learning experience, described by one delegate as ‘some of the best pedagogical material they had seen’. A key part of the design was to maximise opportunities for social learning.  The use of discussion boards, with carefully chosentopics, provoked thousands of strands of discussion.  We are delighted that the work of the IPA and WillowDNA in creating this ground-breaking programme has been shortlisted for this prestigious award.”
